Gone in 60 Seconds "the original".

Eleanor is the only Ford Mustang in history to receive Star title credit!
"Cars are often featured but never one that the lead was the car"
Lee Iacocca
“ Eleanor” Is a 1971 Fastback Ford Mustang played the role of a 1973 Mach 1 Ford Mustang, a true lady both beautiful and tough and is the "Star" of Gone in 60 Seconds.
Toby Halicki, teams up with “Eleanor” and puts her through “The most hair-raising chase scene ever filmed”…. said Car Craft Magazine.
Every precaution was taken to safeguard Toby’s life before he put “Eleanor” through her paces … from heavy duty double strength Simpson shoulder harness and seat belt to deadbolt door locks. In spite of careful planning and technical expertise, “Eleanor” nearly upstaged her driver, Toby, when another driver overshot his mark, clipped “Eleanor” in the rear and sent her and Halicki careening into a light standard in excess of 100 mph. Both “Eleanor” and Toby kept their cool and after two hours of frantic repairs, continued the filming. Toby, although injured, had to wait to hurt later. And again, in an unbelievable 128-foot jump, over 30 feet in the air, “Eleanor” survived and drove away from the scene. However, Halicki wasn’t as fortunate … he received a compressed spine upon impact |

Gone in 60 Seconds "the remake".
Click picture to start the movie.

There has never been, to our knowledge, a movie that stirred as much imagination across the whole Mustang hobby as the 2000 "newmake" of Gone in 60 Seconds. We say newmake because the only likenesses between Gone in Sixty Seconds and Gone in 60 Seconds are these facts: A. In both movies, the characters are car thieves; B. A Mustang is used in the climactic chase scenes of both. Aside from that, the movies bare little else in common. But that chase scene . . . man. That scene made every red-blooded Mustang nut weep for a GT500--and not just any GT500, but that GT500.
When Nicolas Cage played car thief "Memphis" Raines in the 2000 blockbuster movie Gone in 60 Seconds, the object of his obsession was a Pepper Gray 1967 Shelby GT-500 Mustang named Eleanor that sported custom body work, a race-ready powerplant and enough attitude to fill the silver screen. The Mustang was the final car on a list of 50 that Raines and crew had to lift during a 24-hour period in order to save his brother's life. No sooner does Raines remove Eleanor from the safety of her parking garage than a city-wide chase through crowded streets, a flood control channel and a blocked bridge begins. |

My Eleanor coming home! Februari 14 2005.

After three and a half months, that seemed like five years, Eleanor finally arrived in The Netherlands. I'd like to thank everybody for their interest and support. Especial thanks to: Steve J. in Virginia for having the patience to do bussiness with an overseas buyer. Denkers BV Holland (www.denkersbv.com) and Natural Freight for doing an outstanding job on bringing Eleanor to her new home without a scratch. Ruud H. and Ron B. for their help and expertise and Van der Lem Uitgeest for letting me use their docking station to unload Eleanor. |

Eleanor
on her first inspection at the Dutch RDW. Just have
to fix the parking brake (wasn't able to get the
parts in time) and she will be on the road in April!
Other than that she is in absolutely perfect condition,
as I was told by the RDW-experts. |

Second
try at the Dutch RDW. It turned out not to be easy
to get all the parts for the parking brake here
in time. I took a 200 mile drive on my motorbike
yesterday, to get the last parts... They didn't
fit. Had to do some welding but finally (around
midnight) the parking brake worked, thanks to Jan
P.
The silly parkinglights you see in the grill were
also necessary for passing the test. (I will remove
them a.s.a.p haha). Everything else was in order
so it is about time for Eleanor to blacken the Dutch
pavement. |
